Graal is an exploration of Italy’s sociopolitical conflicts through rising neofascist movements and their appropriation of historical narratives, which are transformed into myths of ideological worship. I want to observe how these narratives are used today to construct identities and how history becomes a field of affective contention. I’m particularly interested in the history of the northeastern border during WWII and Italys colonial past in Eritrea and Ethiopia.
